ART
Railway Gallery on Greenhills Drive
This amazing gallery is situated at the top of the Blackbutt Range, and just two minutes from
the tourist town of Blackbutt (S.E. Queensland). The gallery is set amidst five acres of
glorious open paddocks with views to the Bunya Mountains, and beyond.
During the 1990s, artist and author, Janet Skinner traveled from one railway siding to the
next, with her she carried her easel and paints, and created the 104 railway scenes which
are on display today.
The gallery houses six rooms, featuring the original railway collection, plus BVRT paintings,
working studio, and also a selection of her latest contemporary works.

Janet has achieved a World Record in art, is an author and illustrator of four books, as well
as being a designer of theatrical costumes (UK).
A visit to the gallery is amazing ... you will need at least half an hour to look around. There is
nothing else quite like it in Australia.

Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, housed in a wonderful heritage listed art deco style building, is a gem of a place located in the heart of Kingaroy next to the Information Centre.
The gallery welcomes visitors to come experience and enjoy the visual arts of the region's talented artists. Exhibits change regularly throughout the year, displaying a variety of styles, media and themes.
The gallery aims to foster creativity and artistic excellence as well as engage with the community on many levels, offering a variety of programs and activities throughout the year and encourages community participation and appreciation.

Wondai Regional Art Gallery
A must visit is the Wondai Art Gallery close to the centre of town. In nearby Coronation Park, there are more toilets, drinking water, electric barbecues and a dump point, making it a convenient place to pull up stumps for a day or two. The Wondai Regional Art Gallery is housed in the original Wondai Station Master’s House and is the pride of the town. Locally run by a dedicated team of volunteers, the gallery features a range of artists
from across the South Burnett and beyond with a new exhibition opened on the first Friday of each month, except January.

55 Million Years Ago Museum & Art Gallery
An always changing exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and multi dimensional artworks from local and visiting artists are on display and for sale as you stroll through the open plan gallery. Take home a unique Murgon treasure.
The gallery fosters creativity, artistic excellence, and community engagement through workshops, themed exhibitions and presentations available to residents and visitors.

Blackbutt Art Gallery
Blackbutt Art Gallery, is located in one of the friendliest towns in Queensland. It's the perfect place to to pull over, enjoy the fantastic variety of art and a cuppa. discover some award winning artists, and marvel at the extraordinary variety of artistic works on display.
Virtually every medium is represented including contemporary and traditional indigenous art; oils, water and pastels; leather and mixed media; pottery and handcrafted jewellery; textiles and photography.

Kingaroy's Big Peanut
A community-led project, the Big Peanut was crowd-funded with every donor who contributed $30 or more receiving a plaque with their name on the completed statue. The intricate metal design will feature old pieces of local farming machinery.
Emu named Charlotte
One of Wondai’s most famous feathered residents was a beloved emu named Charlotte. Known by a number of names including Eric, Emmy and Moo, Charlotte became a local icon, strolling through town on a regular basis. Unfortunately, Charlotte was injured in a car accident in 2014 and had to be put down as a result of her injuries. But the big beautiful bird’s legacy still lives on through her statue in Coronation Park on Mackenzie Street. Back to top
The Booie Pair of Nuts
A cracking pair of chainsaw carved peanuts you can meet for yourself on Booie Crawford Rd. The friendly, nutty duo were commissioned by the Crumpton family, the fourth generation peanut producers behind the industry leading peanut processing plant just down the road in Crawford. Back to top
Yarramen
The region’s rich timber origins are carefully displayed with seven large carved heads dotted around town. Yarramen’ all with their own unique decorative designs. Nanango Bull
A life-size steel statue of a bull built with more than 2.5km of barbed wire . Created by local artist David White. Located at the Nanango Showgrounds. Back to top
Roy Emerson Statue
The Roy Emerson statue is situated on Bowman Road, adjacent to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and contains many photos and stories about Emerson situated at the Nukku Nook precinct. Back to top

Wondai's Dingos
The statues of the two dingoes were originally created by South Burnett sculptor Kurt Keung and can be found in the picturesque country town of Wodai . Back to top
Hannibal's Bucket
Nicknamed Hannibal’s Bucket, the old dragline bucket was used in the nearby Meandu coal mine. Hannibal’s Bucket is believed to be the first on the Meandu dragline and moved enough material to fill 800,000 backyard swimming pools over its 10-year working life. Back to top

Local Artist Will Nelson brought the town’s history to life in a series of 22 wall murals. Do a track through town to find them all.
Horse Sculpture Yarraman
The name Yarraman means horse in the Port Jackson Pidgin English spread by Aboriginal stockmen in eastern Australia. It derives from word ‘yira’ or ‘yera’ meaning large teeth. The township had paid homage to this with an impressive horse sculpture rearing on his hind legs just up the hill from the Police Station on the main street through town. Back to top
