Moffatdale

Moffatdale is also home to Bjelke-Petersen Dam. More affectionately called BP Dam by the locals and also known as Lake Barambah, the dam plays a major role as the main water source for the local agricultural industry. Located south of Goomeri in the heart of the South Burnett, Barambah Station and Homestead is also a major drawcard for Australian history buffs and open to the public for weddings, accommodation and community events upon special request. The landmark working cattle property is of great heritage significance and has undergone an extensive conservation management plan to guide the preservation and adaptive reuse of the buildings. Barambah Station was constructed from 1843 to the 1880s in the wake of Henry Stuart Russell's exploration of the Burnett district in 1842. The heritage listed Homestead was built in 1906, designed by Bundaberg Architect Faircloth.
