Coolabunia, Crawford & The Booie Range
Crawford
The first small town stop on the South Burnett Rail Trail after you depart from Kingaroy, Crawford takes its name from the Crawford railway station named by Queensland Railways Department in 1904. Named after engineer Hugh Ralston Crawford who supervised the construction of the Wondai-Kingaroy railway.
Coolabunia
A long-time dairy community, Coolabunia is home to Pottique Lavender Farm, a gorgeous spot for a weekend outing with their unique lavender scones, teas, ice cream and soft drink all a must-try. Coolabunia’s rich agricultural roots also extend to the historic saleyards. The facility holds fortnightly cattle sales, speciality store and fat sales, breeder shows and sales and is well worth a visit if you’ve never had the fortune of spectating a livestock auction before.
Booie Range
If you enjoy picturesque country drives and stunning sunsets, Booie is a must see. The quiet farming community has some of the prettiest views in the Burnett as well as a cracking pair of chainsaw carved peanuts you can meet for yourself on Booie Crawford Rd. The friendly, nutty duo were commissioned by the Crumpton family, the fourth generation peanut producers behind the industry leading peanut processing plant just down the road in Crawford.
